Privacy Policy

Moment

Effective September 24, 2026

Moment is a gratitude journal made by Matthew Harries. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into it. The short version: I don't collect any of it.

Your journal

The moments you write are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they're also stored in your private iCloud database so they can sync between your devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account. I can't see, read or access anything in it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

What Moment doesn't do

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, it's scheduled on your device by iOS or macOS. No server is involved.

Exports

When you export your journal as a PDF or JSON file, the file is saved wherever you choose. It isn't uploaded anywhere by Moment.

Deleting your data

Deleting a moment in the app removes it from your device and from iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app and its data from iCloud (Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage).

Children

Moment doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
